St. Thomas Indian Orthodox Church, Sunderland Anniversary Report
St. Thomas Indian Orthodox Church celebrated first anniversary and the memorial service of our departed Bishop on 7th March 2009 from 9.30am to 2pm in Deptford and Millfield Community Association, Sunderland, United Kingdom.The programme was started at 9.30am with Holy Mass celebrated by Rev. Fr. Happy Jacob, Rev. Fr. Abraham Thomas and Rev. Fr. Varghese Mathew. The Public Meeting started at 12 noon and welcome speech given by Rev. Fr. Happy Jacob Vicar & President. Programmes inaugurated by Hon. Mayors Mary Smith. Rev. Fr. Abraham Thomas, Rev. Fr. Varghese T Geroge, Rev. Fr. Gordon Rayon Vicar of St. Joseph RC Church, Sunderland, Rev. Fr. Chris Jackcon represented from RC Church Newcastle & Hexham Diocese, Hon Councillor Mr. Paul Dixon are addressed the people. Priests and representatives from different denominations are attended. The programme will concluded with Love Fest. St. Thomas Indian Orthodox Church, Sunderland fellowship was formed in the month of August 2004 and we are having Malayalam (One of the Indian Language) Mass on every 1st Saturday of the month. In the beginning, we had nearly 15 families in and around Sunderland and Newcastle. As the days went our gathering started to grow and we are having 35 members all from North East. Mr. Reji Thomas Kottarakara Secretary said in his vote of thanks.
